Introducing CampTMP TEAM ONE - CampTMP's official troupe for Junior Theater Festival!
20 campers ages 11 to 18 will be headed to Sacramento in February to participate in workshops, attend panels and performances, and perform a 15-minute cut of a Broadway Junior to be adjudicated by musical theater industry professionals. They will audition for a panel of local directors in May.

CampTMP is excited to announce the return of our audition-based troupe that will travel to the Junior Theater Festival in Sacramento, CA February 5-7, 2027.

What is Junior Theater Festival?
The Junior Theater Festival is the largest celebration of musical theater for young people and is produced by the Junior Theater Group and iTheatrics. Groups perform a 10-15-minute selection from one MTI Broadway Junior®️ musical or MTI One-Act Edition for adjudication, participate in workshops specifically designed for student performers, watch outstanding performances by their peers, and attend special JTF-curated programming and performances by theater professionals.

February 5-7, 2027
When are auditions for TEAM ONE?
Auditions will be held May 3, 2026, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at The Spire (710 S. Anderson St). The group dance audition will be first, followed by individual music auditions. Auditioners will be permitted to leave after they have sung.
Who can audition?
Auditions are open to youth who will be 11-18 years of age by 2/1/27. This is a tuition-based program and therefore is open to anyone to audition, there is no previous CampTMP attendance requirement. Any student under the age of 13 will be required to have one of their guardians chaperone the trip to JTF if selected. (Other chaperones will be needed and all parents are welcome to volunteer)
What do I need to prepare?
32-bars of a musical theater song, please bring a backing track on a Bluetooth compatible device – no accompanist will be available. You will also be taught a dance combination.
What is the cost of this program?
$1800. There is no cost to audition. This tuition will cover all required classes and rehearsals, festival registration, travel expenses (including flights, hotel, some meals), show shirt and a jacket. Fundraising and scholarship opportunities will be available for those who need it!
What will the time commitment be?
TEAM ONE will rehearse most Mon/Wed evenings in September to early November before breaking for December. They will then pick back up the Mon/Wed schedule in January until the festival. Travel for JTF will be from 2/5/27 to 2/8/27 (missing Fri/Mon of school). A more exact schedule will be made available as the TMP 2026-2027 Calendar is finalized.
